CANADA: Divorcing couple fight over cannabis proceeds as legalisation approaches

The Supreme Court of British Columbia is wrestling with a case in which a divorcing couple are quarrelling over matrimonial assets accumulated from their family cannabis-growing business. The couple's evidence, in principle, exposes them to criminal charges, though the authorities may be less inclined to intervene now that legalisation is imminent. The federal government expects to earn at least CAD100 million a year from taxing cannabis sales.
