On 7 December, the UK’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office will receive a Cayman Islands government delegation to discuss their constitutional relationship, following the UK government's decision earlier this year to force its Overseas Territories to adopt public registers of company beneficial ownership. Cayman Premier Alden McLaughlin challenges the UK's right to legislate for the Cayman Islands on devolved domestic matters, and wants the 2009 constitution revised to confine the UK's powers to international obligations.
