The European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs committee has voted to approve the European Commission's (EC’s) plans to implement the OECD's 15 per cent global minimum corporate tax rate for large multinational companies. It holds to the originally proposed implementation timeline and 31 December 2022 deadline, rather than deferring it as has recently been discussed. It also adds a clause providing for revision of the annual revenue threshold and seeks to reduce certain exemptions proposed by the EC. The report will now be tabled for a plenary vote in parliament.
