Changes to the way individuals can work and reside in the United Arab Emirates came into effect on 3 October 2022, with the introduction of new visa categories, as well as relaxed application criteria and additional benefits under the investor visa scheme. Five new short-term visas have been introduced for entrepreneurs, workers, graduates, skilled workers, friends and relatives of UAE nationals and residents and students.
