The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Finance has gazetted Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022, imposing federal corporation tax on business profits for financial periods starting on or after 1 June 2023. The document is supplemented by 158 FAQs, pending publication of further formal guidance. One addition since the public consultation earlier in 2022 sets out the conditions for UAE free zone entities to qualify for the 0 per cent rate rather than the headline 9 per cent rate.
